Some stuff.

Just a generic blog entry, telling what’s been going on, things I’ve found etc. Firstly,  I am glad to say that Ep IV is finished post production, it’s now rendering. So, that should be hitting the net soon.

Second, I really love video editing, or anything to do with motion graphics, and have been looking to buy a new video editing program, aside from Vegas. I knew certain things that I had in mind for future NOK episodes, were things that I wasn’t too sure Vegas was capable of doing. So I looked at AE (Adobe After Effects), Premier Pro, Final Cut Pro etc. Final Cut, meant ideally I would have to move to Mac,  which is not gonna happen. Also, it is extremely professional, it was used to make films such as ‘300′, and to be honest, I don’t want to have to sit down and have to watch multiple tutorials on things that I origanlly knew how to do in Vegas. I had a look at Premier Pro, and it had some cool features, similar to AE, however Premier Pro looked like it was more for long-ass films, which would take a long time to render.  AE on the other hand  is more of an FX heavy software with easy layering (similar to photoshop), this makes visually stunning short films or at least films within the 30 minute mark, easy to make. Also I have been watching many of Andrew Kramer’s AE tutorials over at www.videocopilot.net for little while now, just looking at what can be done if in able hands. Wow.  So, hopefully I shall be able to pick up on AE well enough to creat some cool stuff.

Thirdly, I came across this student-made live action short film on youtube. And quite frankly, it blew me away, considering it was made with 1 camera, 3DS Max and After Effects and was made by just one student. I read somewhere, he was getting alot of Hollywood studio interest, after they saw this.

“Tim Smit is a Dutch student who did most of this work on his own… He recorded the footage in his hometown and edited it in his bedroom… He used After Effects and 3DS MAX for the special effects. Total budget spent: €150.”

Congrats to him.

Back and Filming

Before anything else, thank you for all your support with the comments, I decided to carry on with NOK.

Well, after a sluggish start, I have finally got back on my feet. Vegas is upgraded, viruses have been destroyed (I hope) and I have opened the Sims 2 to film. I haven’t yet found a replacement actor, however I am confident I will find someone. I have created a youtube (username: TrendyhendyPD) video for the auditions. It would really help if  anyone could reccomend someone they might know that might be willing to play the part, the quicker I find someone, the least likely I will procrastinate again. I have had a bad experience with VoiceActingAlliance, as non-anime machinima seems to get pushed to the side. I have managed to work something out with Shawn, and he is back, firmly in place as Jack Snow. Yay!

Well, it’s preety much been bad news…

Well, it’s preety much been bad news after bad news to be honest, Vegas is playing up, my laptop is riddled with viruses, making everything slow. And to top it off, I got an email form Shawnkenobi saying that he is discontinuing voice acting for No One Knows for personal reasons. I am preety demotivated at the moment, and the only thing that is gonna keep me going is support from you. Because of the loss of the main character, I would like to know wether you would like to see No One Knows carry on? I’d love to try something new, but also really want to carry on with NOK. While I am on the hunt for a new actor, I would feel so good and motivated if you, the readers, would give me a few words of “yeah, c’mon you can do it” or “I’d love to see more!” or “no, of course I don’t want to see your crap”. Well, it’s up to you, I’ll appreciate anything. I always do ;-)

If NOK deos discontinue, I shall mail the full finished script to anyone who is interested and will embark on Half Life 2 machinima, I admire all the people who make machinima with hl2.

Hope you all have an awesome summer,

A demotivated Trendy
